Zakk Sabbath, a sensational Black Sabbath cover band led by Zakk Wylde is bringing its electrifying sounds to the Saint Andrews Hall!
Zakk Sabbath is a Black Sabbath cover band featuring lead guitarist and vocalist Zakk Wylde, bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson, and drummer Joey Castillo. Zakk Wylde (birth name Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt) was born in Bayonne (New Jersey) in 1967) and is a musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and occasional actor. He began his musical journey by playing guitar at the age of 8 but didn't take it seriously until his first year in high school. He would practice up to 12 hours per day, often playing almost non stop between coming home from school and leaving for school the next morning (and catching up on sleep at school). He started to play locally with his first band (Stone Henge) and then later with New Jersey band Zyris. His breakthrough came when he landed the role of lead guitarist and co-writer for Ozzy Osbourne. He gravitated toward a particular Les Paul guitar that’s now known as The Grail (with the infamous black and white bullseye painted on it). He left Ozzy Osbourne in 1995 and went on to form his own heavy metal band, Black Label Society. In 2006, he was given his a star on the Hollywood Rock Walk of Fame.
