Waterparks, Houston's sensational pop punk artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Saint Andrews Hall!
Waterparks was formed in Houston (Texas) in 2011 and consists of Otto Wood (drums), Awsten Knight (lead vocals and guitar), and Geoff Wigington (backing vocals and guitar). They had their debut performance in 2012 with DWHB, Life as Lions, and Invent, Animate and they kept honing their craft with many local performances over the next few years. Their musical style is best described as a blend of indie rock, pop rock (a genre that originated in the 1950s, influenced by the beat, arrangements, and style of rock and roll but with a greater emphasis on professional songwriting and recording craft), and pop punk (a fusion genre that typically combines fast punk rock tempos, power chord changes and loud, distorted electric guitars with pop influenced melodies and lyrical themes) and they cite Sum 41, Blink-182, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Saves the Day as their main influences. They've had a stellar career with 1 studio album, 8 singles, 3 extended plays (one of which was co-produced by Benji Madden of Good Charlotte), and an Alternative Press Music Award (for Best Breakthrough Artist). They've also been nominated for 2 more Alternative Press Music Awards (for Song of the Year and Album of the Year).
