Dan Finnerty was born in Rochester (New York) in 1970 and is a an actor, comedian, and singer. He made a name for himself as a member of the hit off Broadway show Stomp in New York City. His popularity grew even further when he performed a foul mouthed rendition of Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ (as the wedding singer in the movie Old School) and when he played an irreverent wedding singer in The Hangover. He formed the The Dan Band with himself on lead vocals, Gene Reed - backing vocals, John Kozeluh - backing vocals, Matt Pollock - backing vocals, David Arana/Byron Thames/Richard Maheux – keyboard, Marc Strommer/Aurelian Budynek – guitar, Dana Decker/Einar Pedersen/Daniel Shulman/Brett Bass – bass, and Dave Johnstone/Ivan Delaforce/Jason Mills – drums. They’ve become a cult favourite and have been praised in many renowned media outlets such as The New York Times, The L.A. Times, Variety, Entertainment Weekly, and Rolling Stone. They’ve released 8 albums and have appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show, and Last Call with Carson Daly.
