Papadosio, Ohio’s sensational space rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Saint Andrews Hall!
The band was formed in Athens (Ohio) in 1996 by Mike Healy, brothers Sam and Billy Brouse, Rob McConnell and Anthony Thogmartin. They were students at Ohio University and they met at a local open jam music night. Their musical style falls under the genre of space rock; a sub-category of rock music characterised by slow, lengthy instrumental passages dominated by electronic organs, synthesizers, experimental guitar work and science fiction or outer space-related lyrical themes. Their aim is “to give people music that can be themes in their lives so they can connect to the music. To provide them with a place to hang out so they don’t feel weird in what they are thinking -- to give their brains and their hearts a home.” The band is a relentless touring machine, saying in an interview, “For the past five or six years we’ve done maybe 150 dates a year and have been gone for 200 days. We were cutting back a little, but now with the new project the number of shows is about to go way back up.” The new project refers to their 4th studio album (Extras In A Movie) and it aims to expand their collective stylistic palette.
