Blues Traveler, New Jersey’ sensational blues rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Saint Andrews Hall!
The band was formed in Princeton (New Jersey) in 1987 and currently consists of John Popper (lead vocals and harmonica), Brendan Hill (drums), Chan Kinchla (guitar), Tad Kinchla (bass), and Ben Wilson (keyboards). While their musical style can be broadly classified as blues rock (a fusion genre combining elements of blues and rock, characterized by bluesy improvisation, the twelve bar blues, extended boogie jams typically focused on the electric guitar player, and often a heavier, riff oriented sound), it also includes elements of psychedelic rock (a style of rock music - inspired or influenced by psychedelic culture - that attempts to replicate and enhance the mind altering experiences of psychedelic drugs, most notably LSD, by using novelty recording techniques, electronic instruments or effects), soul, folk rock, and Southern rock (a subgenre of rock music that developed in the Southern United States from rock and roll, country music, and blues, and is focused generally on electric guitar and vocals). They’ve had a stellar career with 12 studio albums, 3 live albums, 3 compilation albums, 20 singles, and 13 music videos. They’ve also appeared on tribute albums Working Class Hero: A Tribute to John Lennon and Endless Highway: The Music of The Band.
