Big Wreck, Massachusetts’ sensational neo progressive and hard rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to Saint Andrews Hall!
Big Wreck was formed in Boston in 1994 by lead vocalist Ian Thornley, guitarist Brian Doherty, bassist Dave Henning, and drummer Forrest Williams. They met while studying at the Berklee College of Music and after a few years of performing locally, they got a record deal with Atlantic Records. They released their debut studio album (In Loving Memory Of....) and it hit #48 on the Canadian Albums Chart and #31 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. The album’s lead single (The Oaf) was a top 10 hit in the US and Canada and its subsequent singles (That Song, Blown Wide Open) also got a lot of airplay in Canada. The album was certified double Platinum in Canada and the band released their second studio album (The Pleasure and the Greed) in 2001. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as successful as its predecessor and a year later, the band split up after a rift between Ian and Brian. The pair reunited in 2010 and Brian joined Ian’s band, Thornley. After the success of their first performance, they changed the band’s name to Big Wreck. The band’s had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 1 extended play, and 15 singles.
